Q: How do I schedule an appointment for an estimate?

A: Due to our pricing system we do not do estimates. Estimates in reality are just a guess at how much the job will cost. We do not have to guess at our work. All of our restorations are a preset price on our price list by size and style of window. You can confidently total up your expected bill from our price list which is guaranteed for the current calendar year. We will confirm your order prior to the start of work.

Q: Do you see the work before you start?

A: Yes. We will preview your work prior to the scheduled work date to record the brand of window, confirm your requested list of units, and inspect site conditions. This is an unscheduled event and only for those customers who have committed to the project. You will get some notice of our arrival, however, we do not wish to inconvenience you in any way.

Q: Do I have to sign a contract?

A: Yes.  We do require you agree to our terms of sale prior to scheduling any work.

Q: How much is the deposit?

A: Typically, we ask for 50% up front for any job over $500.

Q: What if I schedule an inspection?

A: You will be charged a fee of $75 to perform an inspection and be notified should you wish to be present. All of your windows will be inspected contrary to the standard request for service where only those windows you have identified will be inspected.

Q: Do I need to be home while you do the work?

A: No. This is left to the discretion of the customer. We do not require you to be present. However, our installers will need access to the home to properly complete your restorations. We also require you to accept and approve the work immediately upon completion.

Q: How does the weather affect the work?

A: We cannot work in the rain. We cannot work in less than 40 degrees. In an effort to provide the best finished product and service to our customers, we put these limitations on our scheduling.

Q: How do you re-schedule cancelled work do to weather?

A: We make every effort to accommodate everyone’s schedules. We typically leave flex days in our schedule for weather. You will get the next available day within a 10 day period unless more than one day is lost then the entire schedule will move.

Q: What is a sash?

A: The sash is the operable part of the window. It is the glass and the wood frame surrounding the glass.

Q: Do you replace glass?

A: We will replace glass on windows we are restoring.  If all you need is new glass we will refer you to one of our prefered glass companies.

Q: What kind of material do you use?

A: Pre-primed white pine and poplar. Please see the solution page for more detail.
