Price Verification

--As stated on the “price list” page of our website all pricing has been provided to you. The prices listed on our website are guaranteed, final, and non-negotiable for the current calendar year. Window restoration pricing is an exact quote per our scope of work for that item.  The pricing you have received on your window inspection sheet is not an estimate, but a confirmation of pricing based on the units identified by you the customer and/or our inspection.  You will be provided a detailed invoice listing the total number of windows restored with a description of each upon completion.  You will be billed for all work that has been completed based on our current price list. Your final invoice will be figured by the total number of windows restored which may be plus or minus windows originally determined to require restoration. You will be notified of your invoice total prior to completion. Deletions or additions to work will not be performed without your request or consent.

Sales Contract

This is a written contract for service prior to the start of work.  A summary of the scope of work covering our "standard" restoration procedure is also included.  Additional services may be offered which are not specified in this scope of work.  Please refer to our website for more information on additional services and procedures.   A 50% down payment is required for any job in excess of $500.  Down payments are waived for jobs less than $500.   With your request for service we are allocating materials and reserving a working date(s) to perform your work for which time and materials would otherwise be reserved for others. By reserving said time and materials in advance without full payment, Window Alternatives will hold you responsible to accept and adhere to these terms of sale. Down payments (if necessary) are not refundable if work is cancelled less than 1 business day in advance.

Payment for service rendered

--Payment is due in full immediately upon completion of the work. 

--If an inspection by a spouse or other owner’s agent is required to release payment, they must be present at the time of completion without exception.

--Any balance not paid in full within ten business days of completion will be considered past due.  1% per day late fees will be assessed until balance is paid in full.

--We accept cash, personal check, Visa, and MasterCard. Credit cards are accepted up to $2,000.  Cash or check is required for any remaining balance. 

Scope of Work

The following is a summary of what is and is not included in the base restoration prices.  Other window services and repairs may be available for an additional charge, but not included in the base pricing.

Included:  

*Removal of all decayed (Exterior) material to a clean workable surface.  Minor sash work is included.  Significant sash damage will require a new sash which will be billed seperately. 

*Removal of all exterior components including inner sill, sill nosing, brick mould, mull dividers.

*Installation of new exterior components.

*New components are pre-primed(wood) or paint ready composite.

*All joints and perimeters are caulked and ready for paint.

*Sashes are re-installed and adjusted for operation.

Not included:

*The top horizontal brick mould may remain on larger units to maintain stability.

*Half round brick moulds will remain unless specifically noted on inspection.

*Some profiles of half rounds and transoms may be altered to achieve rot-free conditions.  Other radii may not be replaced due to product availability.

*No glass repair or replacement.

*No interior trim repair or interior work of any kind.

*No hardware repair or replacement.

*No weatherstrip or seal repair.

*Sashes are adjusted with resonable effort.  Alteration of severly misaligned or warped sashes is not included.

*Sash rot is an "as needed" on-site repair and not a comprehensive restoration, therefore is not warranted.

*No finish painting.

*No paint prep work on any surface not replaced.

*No cedar trim adjacent to the window.

*Repair or replacement of any adjacent surface or material NOT part of the window unit. (Trim, siding, shutters, etc.)

*Investigation, repair, or gaurantee of any leak. 

Glass breakage Disclaimer

In the event that the restoration requires a sash repair and/or the removal and replacement of any components adjacent to a glass surface, breakage is a possible side effect of that procedure. Although all reasonable care and effort is taken when working adjacent to glass surfaces, damage may be unavoidable. Aged glass thermoseals are also vulnerable to failure when exposed to movement and vibration. Failure of any glass thermoseal may result under normal working conditions. Window Alternatives shares no interest in, nor gains profit from the replacement of glass. Window Alternatives shall take no responsibility in the replacement expense or labor of any damaged glass surface. It will be the responsibility of the Owner to have any and all damaged glass replaced at their expense.

Leak Notice

In some cases, water may be entering the home due to rot damage on window sills.  Inherently, windows are not designed to leak.  Something has to specifically wrong with the window for it to leak.  Specifically, the integrity of the frame is compromised or a gap exisits due to lack of caulking.  In most cases, although the window seems  the likely entry point, water is entering the home elsewhere due to extreme or unusual weather conditions.  If a leak exists prior to performing any restoration work due to rotting of the sill this leak may be resolved through our normal restoration process.  However, Window Alternatives is not investigating,  resolving, or charging to repair water leak issues on your home.  We are replacing rotten wood only.  Additionally, Window Alternatives is not warranting any leak repair that exists either prior to or after resotration work has been completed.  We take exceptional care in properly caulking and sealing the window frame, (in most cases better than the manufacturer) to prevent the infiltration of water through or around the window.

Acknowledgement

By requesting and receiving service and making payment for restoration work performed by Window Alternatives, the customer accepts and agrees to the terms of sale, procedure conditions, and warranty disclosed on this website without exception. It is the responsibility of the customer to view, read, and accept any and all information prior to agreeing to the terms of sale.  At no time will any work be performed without the cusotmer's acknowlegement of receipt of any and all information provided on our website.  A hard copy of this document will be provided to you with your window inspection.  A signed copy along with your deposit (if necessary) is required to schedule your work.
